I think it needs some changes, myself. Maybe more thorns, since the imrpession I got from the fic was that they were pretty much covering <i.everything... there doesn't feel enough here, and anzu isn't well enough merged into the image. But for my first attempt, I'm fairly pleased.

Hm... not sure how uber-advanced critique you want me to go on this, because I could pick it apart from every possible angle if that's what you wanted and nitpick at the anatomy and the way that the negative space is designed (though this is actually pretty good) and the wings and the way that she's centered in the thing and the way that the hair is colored in and all of the little tiny details... or I could just say that the anatomy could use some work (her neck, for one, is too thick and a bit too short with makes her look a bit odd, her limbs look too short, one arm seems shorter then the other and the way that her one fist is positioned seems a bit odd - I wanna see that arm forming more of a diagonal with her other arm for more of a visually dynamic effect, the action lines are somewhat conflicting if she's supposed to be moving up).

The wings could also use a bit of work - just go and do a google image search for bird wings, and it comes up with all sorts of perdy pictures. Also, though it's just an opinion, I like wings that are wider at the base - ones that span most of their backs instead of just sitting on the shoulder blades. I know that most people draw them with just the one connecting point - /professional/ artists and manga-ka do - so if you like it that way then more power to ya! I've just gotten used to... um... real wings, I suppose, and if you consider things it would be more difficult to fly with just the one connection point like that....

Anyway, it depends - if you want me to rip the pic to little tiny shreds then just say as much and I'll be happy to constructively criticize you to death.

No matter what you want, however, just know that this is quite a nice little piece - don't let me pointing out EVERYTHING that could use work get you down; trust me, much of my stuff could use a ton of work as well. Keep in mind that it's good already and I only mention so that it can become better.
